Bald Eagles, Zig Ziglar and Primland: A Q&A With Our January Speaker

When Van Rose of Rose & Womble Realty spoke recently at a Tidewater Builders Association event, he got a standing ovation. Don’t miss your chance to hear this exciting speaker when he joins PRSA Hampton Roads for our first lunch meeting of the year, on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

The deadline to register is Friday, Jan 13 at 3:30 p.m. So register now!

Here’s a little Q&A with Van, who’s going to motivate us to make resolutions to be more effective at work and at home:

Since we’ll be discussing resolutions, what’s one tip you have for staying on track to achieve your goals?

Setting specific written goals awakens our reticular activating system to cause us to find the solutions that ultimately help us reach our goals. This is a fascinating true principal about our brains and how they work.

    Who are your mentors?

My mentors over my business life have been my father, Jim Rose, the founder of Rose & Womble Realty almost 50 years ago. Leroy Houser as a speaker, and Zig Ziglar as a speaker and writer; each have each had profound impacts on my life.

Do you have a motto that you live by?

“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.— Zig Ziglar, “Secrets of Closing the Sale”

What’s your strategy for motivating your marketing team at Rose & Womble?

Very simple: We are better as a team than any one of us is as an individual, so let’s all work together to bring our clients the very best!

Just for fun, what is one place you plan to visit in 2017?

Hope to visit Primland in the spring. Go look for yourself:

So what about the bald eagles? Come to the Jan. 18 luncheon to find out.
