Were You in PR in the 20th Century?

Are you a PRSA member who worked in public relations before the year 2000? If so, please become part of a new senior-level group of PRSA Hampton Roads member Kevin Gaydosh, APR, Fellow PRSA is helping organize.

Kevin, who heads public relations at Obrien et al. Advertising in Virginia Beach, is looking to connect professionals like him who worked in the pre-Facebook and pre-Twitter days. This was when "social media” likely meant you chatted with a reporter at a cocktail party.

When asked in a recent PRSAHR member survey about starting small groups of professionals, senior-level ranked first among responders.

Contact Kevin at kevingaydosh@obrienetal.com if you are interested in this informal conversation group. Let him know if you prefer to meet soon for:

    •            Morning coffee
    •            Breakfast
    •            Lunch
    •            After-work happy hour

There are opportunities for our chapter to facilitate other small member groups. Areas of interest that surfaced in the member survey include: agencies, APR seekers, B2B, corporate, government, independent professionals, internal communications, legal industry, mid-level professionals, municipal employees, new chapter members, new practitioners, nonprofit staff, Peninsula professionals, social media power users, social media for non-digital natives, students and tourism professionals.

If you can help facilitate a small group of like-minded professionals, let Sally Hartman, APR, PRSA president, know. Email her at shartman@hamptonroadscf.org.
