PR Pros to Host Workshop on Developing an Online Newsroom

    Public relations professionals are invited to learn how to create an award-winning online newsroom for their organization at an August 16 workshop hosted by the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Hampton Roads Chapter. The breakfast event will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Ferguson Enterprises Heritage Center, 618 Bland Boulevard, Newport News.     Associates from Ferguson Enterprises and WTKR will discuss how the Ferguson press room transformed into a PRSA Bronze Anvil award winner.  Attendees will learn how to build and maintain a dynamic online news site that’s created with the media in mind, easy to maintain and gathers data to measure media engagement. 

    Speakers include Christine Dwyer, senior public relations manager, Ferguson Enterprises; Zsavonne Perryman, public relations specialist, Ferguson Enterprises; and Dan Cawley, executive producer, WTKR-TV News 3.

    Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop computer.
